The Hindustan Instances reports………Delhi Police have arrested a senior commandant of the Central Industrial Safety Force, presently posted in Ministry of External Affairs on deputation, for allegedly hiding 550 grams of hashish in the automobile of a consultant functioning with the Union government.
Police stated the commandant wanted to befriend the consultant’s wife, a bureaucrat posted in Rajasthan. When the lady distanced herself with the commandant, he hid the contraband in the automobile to frame the man, police stated.
A lawyer, the commandant’s childhood pal who helped him procure the drugs from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, was also arrested.
The hashish was recovered from the automobile on Wednesday evening when it was parked in the Central Government Offices (CGO) complicated at Lodhi Road. The recovery was the outcome of a tip off received by a deputy inspector basic level officer of the CISF.
“The CISF checked the car and recovered hashish from it. When the automobile owner was contacted, he claimed innocence. On this, the CISF reported the incident to the Delhi Police. A group from Lodhi Road police station then tracked the caller who turned out to be a hawker close to CGO complicated.
When CCTV footage of the region exactly where the hawker was stationed, have been checked, we spotted two suspects who had utilised the hawker’s telephone to tip off the DIG. In a further CCTV footage, the males have been also observed close to the automobile from which the drugs have been recovered. They have been identified and detained inside hours,” stated a police officer who did not want to be named.
