Police who raided an abandoned Woolworths shop in the Midlands have been shocked to locate thousands of cannabis plants inside.
Cops smashed their way into the shop and located an eye-watering two,647 cannabis plants.
The old shop was subdivided into FOURTEEN rooms.
Police swooped on the shop, in Longton, in Staffordshire, following passers-by reported a sturdy smell of cannabis wafting from the creating.
StokeonTrentLive reports officers found it had been subdivided into 14 rooms and decked out with vibrant lights to develop the bumper crop.
Now gardener Thoan Hoang – who was caught red-handed inside the Transport Lane creating on July 10 – has been jailed for 16 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Prosecutor Neil Ahuja mentioned: “Entry was forced. Police found vibrant lights and a important quantity of cannabis plants. The defendant walked into their view and was detained.
“Plasterboard had been employed to generate 14 rooms with a important quantity of plants expanding in 13 of them. In total there have been two,647 cannabis plants.”
Hoang, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to generating cannabis amongst July four and 11.
The 37-year-old told police he had been driven to the premises, locked inside and told to turn the electrical energy on and off.
