Members of the New York City Council have adopted a resolution calling on administrators to revise policies distinct to marijuana possession and youngster custody.

Resolution 0740 calls upon “the New York City Administration for Children’s Solutions to implement a policy locating that a person’s mere possession or use of marijuana does not by itself develop an imminent danger of harm to a youngster, warranting the child’s removal.”

It cites racial disparities in marijuana enforcement, along with the legalization of healthcare cannabis, as factors for revising Administration policy.

Earlier this year, City lawmakers passed separate pieces of legislation limiting conditions exactly where these looking for employment or on probation may perhaps be drug tested for previous cannabis exposure.
