CBD could help fight heroin addiction, according to a study published in the Journal of American Psychiatry. Examining 42 patients suffering from withdrawal symptoms associated with heroin addiction, researchers at Mount Sinai Hospital gave subjects either 400 mg or 800 mg of an oral CBD solution or a matching placebo. They found that the subjects given CBD experienced a significant reduction in the cravings and anxiety, along with reduced drug cue-induced physiological measures of heart rate and salivary cortisol levels.
