Maryland regulators cautioned healthcare marijuana companies they will have to open their dispensaries by Sept. 30 or see their approvals rescinded.

The warning, issued in a state bulletin, pertains mostly to 26 companies that stay in preapproval stage, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Roughly 76 licensed MMJ dispensaries have currently opened their doors, the newspaper reported.

A total of 102 dispensaries have been supposed to begin performing company by December 2017, when sales launched in Maryland.

The state’s program has proved robust regardless of some MMJ companies operating into launch challenges.
