Wyoming requires one more step toward hemp production



Farmers in Wyoming are receiving closer to getting one more crop to cultivate now that the state’s Division of Agriculture has submitted a plan for hemp production to the U.S. Division of Agriculture (USDA).

Final month, Gov. Mark Gordon signed the very first state-level hemp law due to the fact passage of the 2018 Farm Bill.

Wyoming’s new law calls for the state to chart its personal course for a hemp sector, but it will not challenge licenses till the USDA approves its regulatory strategy.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue stated in late February that the USDA will not overview state plans till the agency finalizes federal hemp production regulations this fall for the 2020 hemp season.
