Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici mentioned the Wellness Ministry launched a commission to analyze health-related marijuana, Romanian tv station Digi24 reported.

According to the 24-hour news station, Teodorovici mentioned:

“I’ve talked to minister Sorina Pintea and located out that this commission is meeting at the Wellness Ministry to analyze and debate the challenge of legalizing cannabis for health-related use, for these diagnosed with specific health-related situations, specially terminal cancer.

“There is a health-related argument for this variety of legalization.”

Romania is a member of the European Union.

More than a dozen EU member states currently have health-related cannabis laws on the books, but quite a few are nonetheless in the early stages of establishing a framework.
