A legal health-related cannabis market could be in Romania’s future, according to the country’s finance minister.
Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici mentioned the Wellness Ministry launched a commission to analyze health-related marijuana, Romanian tv station Digi24 reported.
According to the 24-hour news station, Teodorovici mentioned:
“I’ve talked to minister Sorina Pintea and located out that this commission is meeting at the Wellness Ministry to analyze and debate the challenge of legalizing cannabis for health-related use, for these diagnosed with specific health-related situations, specially terminal cancer.
“There is a health-related argument for this variety of legalization.”
Romania is a member of the European Union.
More than a dozen EU member states currently have health-related cannabis laws on the books, but quite a few are nonetheless in the early stages of establishing a framework.
