On March 20, 2019, the Las Vegas City Council met to talk about a proposed bill concerning social use venues (consumption lounge) in the City of Las Vegas. Following deliberation, the Council members instructed the City employees that they would like a variety of additions integrated.

These incorporate

  1. The creation of a pilot plan, which would only enable firms that at the moment hold a dispensary license to apply for a social use venue license. There had been talks to incorporate a sunset provision which would enable, soon after 12 months, any individual to apply for social use venue license.
  2. Distance separation requirement pertaining to the resort and gaming corridor.
  3. No alcohol to be served inside a social use venue.

Following the presentation of provisions, the City Council decided that additional revisions and discussions had been important prior to the Council could make a selection. The City Council will talk about this at the meetings scheduled for April 17, 2019.
