On March 20, 2019, the Las Vegas City Council met to talk about a proposed bill concerning social use venues (consumption lounge) in the City of Las Vegas. Following deliberation, the Council members instructed the City employees that they would like a variety of additions integrated.
- The creation of a pilot plan, which would only enable firms that at the moment hold a dispensary license to apply for a social use venue license. There had been talks to incorporate a sunset provision which would enable, soon after 12 months, any individual to apply for social use venue license.
- Distance separation requirement pertaining to the resort and gaming corridor.
- No alcohol to be served inside a social use venue.
Following the presentation of provisions, the City Council decided that additional revisions and discussions had been important prior to the Council could make a selection. The City Council will talk about this at the meetings scheduled for April 17, 2019.
