A college project in Templin (Germany) causes an outrage: 90 underage students must study how to manage alcohol – such as tasting beer and wine.

With the project “smart alternatively of blue”, a college in Templin desires to protect against alcohol addiction. The secondary college invites about 90 underage students to supervised alcohol drinking. The students can drink up to .eight liters of wine or 1.three liters of beer. Even students who have in no way attempted any alcohol just before are allowed to participate.

The project serves the prevention of addiction, says Brandenburg’s red-red government and promotes it for years with taxpayers’ funds. But now the parents of the students are starting to defend themselves against the project.

In the nearby newspaper Nordkurier, a reader urges the government to 1st educate youngsters about the harm brought on by alcohol and drugs. «And now they are becoming presented alcohol by teachers at college!»



With written permission of the parents, the 9th-grade students must be permitted to drink alcohol. Admitting alcohol to adolescents beneath the age of 16 is punishable by law. The reader does not feel about signing the permit. Even the Headmistress would not permit her youngster to drink a liter of beer: “That’s exactly where I lie flat myself.”

Nonetheless, the headmistress defends the project:

It is not about the mess, but about watching the consequences. Students who boast that they do not thoughts alcohol must encounter that they are not that powerful.
