These days, on International Women’s Day, we have decided to adjust our tag line from “the future of cannabis is female” to:
The future of cannabis is feminine.
This shift is a testament to our belief that in the future there will be no “man vs. lady,” just a fine and intentional dance in between the masculine and feminine energies that exist in all of us. It is lastly time to take a step back and ask ourselves if there is a much more holistic way to define who we are, beyond “male and female,” each individually and collectively. Of course there are occasions when we want clear gender distinctions, but the all round segregation in between genders no longer serves our society. Instead of focusing on the variations in between man and lady, we can recognize the conflicting however complementary energies inside each man and lady, and move towards a future exactly where we ALL really feel comfy expressing ourselves as humans initial.
As an aspiring female entrepreneur with organic “girly tendencies,” I have struggled most of my life to attain a sense of “healthful” gender balance. My maternal instincts have absolutely helped nurture friendships and private relationships, but in enterprise I have noticed an clear blindspot.
At Harvard Business enterprise College, a male student investor after told me:
“Your physique language is as well girly. You want to be much more skilled. Perhaps practice in front of a mirror?”
His suggestions felt like a slap in the face, only mainly because it produced me recognize the extent to which our gender distinctions have been misguided. Just mainly because males have dominated the enterprise planet does not imply that there is no space for a much more feminine method. Becoming girly and becoming skilled are not mutually exclusive. And you do not have to be a girl to be girly.
In the similar way, boys are taught to suppress their feminine power at such a young age that it is practically not possible to get it back. It is not fair, productive, or progressive.
We are all feminine and we are all masculine.
Envision a planet exactly where you are born you, totally free to play with dolls or trucks and put on blue clothing or pink clothing regardless of who you are, totally free to cry and scream and express your self as you, free to be soft or aggressive or each in the classroom, in enterprise and at household, surrounded by folks who openly share their feelings, unafraid of judgement that “you are as well girly” or “you are not girly adequate.” Envision a planet exactly where youngsters can take the vital time to figure out who they are ahead of they are defined by an individual else. Now let’s build that planet with each other.
On this International Women’s Day, let’s set the tone for future generational cohesion and peace by focusing on the beauty that binds us, the feminine and masculine energies in all of us.
